Lexington hires Broks from Swiss Re CorSo
AIG’s E&S platform Lexington Insurance Company has hired Ella Broks from Swiss Re Corporate Solutions as national director of business development, The Insurer has learned.
The New York-based executive was at the primary insurance arm of the reinsurance giant for more than seven years, most recently as head of sales for its E&S business.
She held a number of positions at the company after joining in Zurich in 2012 and moved out to New York in 2015.
Broks joins a company that has significantly repositioned its business model since the start of last year when it switched its focus from retail to wholesale and focused its sights on middle market business as it pivoted away from the large complex risk accounts it used to write.
Lexington, led by Lou Levinson as CEO, has also undertaken remediation efforts that have been dramatic in terms of limits and pricing and have been a big driver of the hardening market in the E&S space.
It was revealed in the fourth quarter earnings of its parent AIG that submission volumes surged even as Lexington cat back limits significantly and pushed for price.
