FTSE futures point lower as economy contracts; Asia stocks dented by pandemic fears

Futures tied to London’s benchmark FTSE 100 pointed lower ahead of the open on news the UK economy shrank at the fastest pace since the financial crisis in the first quarter of 2020 and as stocks across Asia-Pacific fell amidt rising US-China tension and fresh pandemic fears.
