Ecclesiastical trims CR to 88.8% but investments result in £27.3mn H1 loss

UK insurer Ecclesiastical reported a pre-tax loss of £27.3mn ($29.8mn) for the six months ended 30 June 2022, down from a profit of £46.5mn a year earlier, principally due to investment losses as a result of macroeconomic disruptions and the conflict in Ukraine.
