NFIP lapse looms as Senate Republicans voice opposition to funding bill

The House of Representatives has passed a continuing resolution that would extend the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) to 3 December, but opposition from Senate Republicans will need to be overcome if the program is not allowed to lapse at the end of this month.
