Euclid adds CNA’s Bailey to life sciences MGA
Euclid Life Science Specialty has hired David Bailey as vice president of underwriting and executive underwriter in a move which reunites him with his former CNA colleague Ryann Elliott.
The MGA was launched by program manager platform Euclid Insurance Services last September in a move first revealed by The Insurer with Elliott as managing principal, supported by A+ paper from Nationwide E&S.
Bailey was most recently commercial director of life science for insurer CNA and previously held medtech leadership, risk control and underwriting roles with Travelers/St Paul and Fireman’s Fund.
At Euclid Life Science Specialty he will focus on growing the company’s presence and core book of life science products-work hazard liability and professional liability on the West Coast.
The executive will also work with the MGA’s leadership to expand product offerings for the life science industry.
Commenting on the hire, Elliott said: “David’s driven marketplace presence and rich underwriting expertise builds on our extensive academic focus and experience necessary to service client needs in this highly complex industry sector.
“His focus on growing the team and the book on the West Coast will aid in balancing our team.”
As previously reported, former CNA vice president of underwriting for life sciences Elliott assembled a start-up team including executive underwriter Philip Rondeau and senior underwriter Daniel Fuld, with David Shuey as executive consulting director.
The Euclid life science program offering includes primary and excess coverage, with up to $20mn in capacity for preferred risks and a combined product-work hazard and life science professional liability form.
