AM Best assigns new Velocity Specialty balance sheet co A- rating

The new carrier established by cat-focused Velocity Risk Underwriters’ has secured an A- financial strength rating from AM Best as it prepares to launch with $100mn+ of start-up capital led by an equity investment from backer Oaktree Capital Management, in a move first revealed by E&S Insurer.
