Cresta: Turkey earthquake losses of $5bn is largest YTD cat loss event

The Kahramanmaras Earthquake Sequence that hit Turkey and Syria on 6 February is the largest international catastrophe insurance loss to date in 2023, with an industry loss pegged at $5bn by Clix, the loss index produced by industry data organisation Cresta.
