Insured losses from BC flooding pegged at C$450mn

The flooding that devastated parts of British Columbia (BC) last month has generated at least C$450mn ($354mn) of insured losses, according to a preliminary estimate from Catastrophe Indices and Quantification Inc (CatIQ), while Canadian carrier Definity has pegged its own exposure at C$21mn to C$25mn, net of taxes and reinsurance.
