Intact beats in Q2 despite elevated cat losses pushing CR to 90.7%

Intact’s combined ratio increased 4 points to 90.7 percent in Q2 2022 after the company faced a C$175mn ($137mn) increase in catastrophe losses during the period, although the Toronto, Canada-based carrier closed the quarter with net operating income per share that was comfortably ahead of analysts’ consensus.
