Markel’s Whitt: “Difficult” to achieve double-digit rate increases in 2022

Markel co-CEO Richie Whitt has commented the market cycle is entering a “more nuanced phase” with it difficult to achieve the double-digit increases seen last year, with the executive also saying that a 90 percent or better reinsurance combined ratio is unlikely for his company until 2023.
