Whitt: Markel prioritising rate adequacy as market grows more competitive

Markel co-CEO Richie Whitt told analysts on Wednesday he was pleased with the carrier’s 20 percent gross premium growth through the first half of the year, but emphasised that it would be focusing harder on rate adequacy as conditions become more competitive and “nuanced”.
